THE BASICS.
NAME: Ronald Weasley. AGE: 23. FORMER HOUSE: Gryffindor. SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Quite straight, thank you. RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single. OCCUPATION: Auror. AFFILIATION: He hasn't sided with any of the affiliations that are out there right now. PERSONALITY: Ron tends to be short tempered and extremely stubborn, but after a good fight and a long waiting period he'll settle down to some sort of compromise. He's usually the last person to say sorry and there are very few people that Ron actually thinks are worthy of him granting a proper apology. Because of his financial situation and the constant insults that he's recieved from other pureblooded witches and wizards, Ron generally feels more than insecure of himself most of the time. Additionally, even though he has done pretty well in school, Ron feels as though his abilities as a wizard aren't really all that up to mark. Between the money, the way that his family is looked upon, and his capabilities as a wizard, Ron thinks that he's not good enough for anyone or anything on a number of different levels. He's more than courageous though, and he's certainly trustworthy. Ron is always there when his friends and family need them to be, even if it's for something that he's not exactly favorable toward. Most importantly, Ron has a very big heart that he chooses to hide behind his constant sarcasm and cynical remarks. INTERESTS: Quidditch, chess, spending time with his mates, not getting yelled at by Mum, and generally anything that can be classified as fun. APPEARANCE: Ron has the trademark ginger Weasley hair, freckles, and blue eyes. He's much taller than most people, which doesn't help his case much when he's trying to avoid standing out in a rough crowd. For the most part, Ron tends to wear clothing that looks either far too big or extremely worn out because of the fact that he mostly wears hand-me-downs. He likes to wear the most comfortable thing he can get his hands on, so typically one might find Ron wearing a pair of jeans and something along the lines of a Chudley Cannons shirt. When Ron is angry or embarassed, his cheeks will redden along with the tips of his ears. Ron's expressions are fairly easy to read, which makes it more than simple for people to identify as to what he's feeling whenever they see him in person. WAND: 14 inches, willow, and contains one unicorn-tail hair.
THE HISTORY.
FAMILY HISTORY: Even though they are a very well known family, the Weasley's usually don't get the respect that they deserve because of their support for muggleborns, halfbloods, and muggles alike -- especially not from people like the Malfoys. Despite all of that, they are a pureblooded family and their family tree does go back quite a bit. The Weasley's are related to the Blacks, Potters, and Prewett's. Arthur Weasley and Molly Prewett met while they were at Hogwarts. After they graduated, they maried one another and had seven children. Those children are as follows: Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny. The Weasley household currently resides just outside of a small village in Ottery St. Catchpole and happens to be the location in which all of the Weasley children were raised. PERSONAL HISTORY: After he got his owl from Hogwarts, Ron found himself feeling far more than thrilled. He was going to school! No longer would he have to lurk about the house feeling bored to death! No longer would he have to play Ginny's stupid games! He was going to school! Yet, even though Ron seemed to be more than excited, he still couldn't help but feel rather fearful as well. At home, he had Ginny to spend his time with. She was automatic. But at Hogwarts? He knew that Fred, George, and Percy weren't going to want to waste their time away with their younger brother. Why would they? He knew that he wouldn't want to do it himself if he were in their shoes. The one thing that bothered Ron the most was the idea of him not being able to make any decent friends. Or any friends at all, really. But after he and Harry had met on the train to Hogwarts, Ron felt a whole lot differently. Harry seemed like a pretty decent bloke. Plus, he was famous. How many people went around making friends with famous people? None that he knew of. During his first year, Ron did several things. He made friends with Harry and Hermione (surprisingly enough), took a few classes, adjusted to the way that life at Hogwarts worked, and broke quite a few rules doing things that his Mum would throttle him for if she had any idea about them at all. And, yes, there was also the part where he faced off a three-headed dog and helped rescue the Philosopher's Stone from no other than Lord Voldemort himself by doing the one thing that he was best at doing: playing chess. After his first year, Ron returned for his second term at Hogwarts, this time becoming much more friendly and open around Harry and Hermione. He proved his loyalty to Harry when everyone came to believe that he was the one responsible for all of the attacks on the students in school by sticking by his side, and he did even more by wandering into the Forbidden Forest (with spiders, mind you) so that he and Harry could dig up more information on whatever it was that happened to be causing those attacks. After Hermione was petrified, Ron became more and more desperate about solving the mystery behind the attacks. Hermione was his friend, after all, and as much as she annoyed him, Ron really didn't want to see her get hurt...or worse. Everything only became more stressful when it was discovered that his own sister, Ginny, had been kidnapped and taken into the Chamber of Secrets herself by the monster that was harming all of the people around him. Angry and scared, Ron went with Harry into the Chamber itself in hopes of getting his sister out alive. Unfortunately, however, after a very stupid attack that Lockhart was responsible for, Ron ended up being trapped in the rubble under the school with the memory lacking Professor, leaving Harry to face off the basilisk on his own. During that time, Ron couldn't help but think one thing, and one thing only: "We're all going to die." He didn't think that anyone could just head in and take on an enormous creature like that - not even Harry Potter - and over time, he began to lose hope. Even as he heard the noise of Harry and the basilisk fighting it out, Ron knew that this was it. It was the end for him. But that wasn't important, was it? Hermione was frozen stiff a few floors up. Ginny was probably dead. And Harry? Well, he was getting there. Ron didn't know how much more of it all that he could have taken. But then, when Harry miraculously returned, Ron came to realize that there must have been more to his friend than he thought. Especially since his little sister was brought back in one piece. By the time his third year had come around, Ron was feeling far more cautious than ever. Sirius Black was on the loose, and he really didn't want to have to end up facing a lunatic who went off and murdered a bunch of people in public. A lot more people seemed to be worried about Harry more than anything though. And so Ron figured that he should have felt the same way too. When he finally learned that Sirius was out looking for Harry, Ron couldn't help but find himself feeling far more than protective of his friend. If anything happened to him after all of this time just because some nutcase escaped from Azkaban, Ron knew that he would never be able to forgive himself. He did well to watch over his best mate with Hermione at his side, and even when it seemed as though Harry was about to go off the deep end after he discovered that Sirius was his godfather, Ron made sure that he was there. It was what he was good for, wasn't it? Ron was the sidekick. It was something that he came to realize that year. That and the fact that it was extremely wise to avoid the Whomping Willow, even if ones rat happens to be venturing in the general direction of the crazed tree. When he was taken down to the Shrieking Shack by Sirius, the only thing that Ron's mind contained were the words, "Please don't follow me, Harry. Go back and get help. You don't need to die because of me." He didn't want Harry to come after him. He didn't want anyone to come after him unless they were prepared to do so. But, as he knew that he would, Harry showed up, anyway. And when Sirius put him in a position that made it seem as though his entire life was on the line? Ron stood on two legs, one shaking violently from the injuries that had been forced upon him, looked at Sirius in the eye, and said, "If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us, too!" Of course, later on, it was discovered that Sirius was innocent and that his own pet was to be blamed for what had happened to Harry's parents. Ron felt more than disgusted, especially since Scabbers - a murderer! - had been sleeping in the same room with him for as long as he could remember. He had been housing a murderer. Brilliant. Just brilliant. When the Triwizard Tournament made its way to Hogwarts, Ron stepped away from Harry's side for quite a while. After they had discussed the idea of joining into the tournament themselves and finding a way past the age line, Ron discovered that somehow Harry had managed to do it himself. Or so he believed. Outraged that he didn't bother to share his secret with him, Ron became angry and refused to speak with him all the way up until after the first task. Of course, Ron did go out of his way to make sure that his friend was, at the very least, prepared for what was to come. After hearing word of there being dragons involved with Harry's task, Ron went out of his way to secretly warn his friend before the task finally began. When he and Harry were on speaking terms again, Ron realized that he had always believed that Harry wasn't responsible for putting his name in the cup. He was just jealous. And who could blame him? Harry was famous, good at Quidditch (yet another thing to be jealous about), and seemed to be able to do everything that Ron couldn't. He even got more attention from his own brothers than he did! As great as his jealousy was, Ron really couldn't help but make things up with him. He just couldn't stand not talking to his best mate anymore. His jealous streak came back rather quickly after that though. As soon as Ron discovered that Viktor Krum was taking Hermione to the Yule Ball, Ron felt far more jealous than he had in his entire life. And he didn't even realize it! All he knew was that Krum, a Quidditch player that he once respected and practically worshipped, had just snagged his best friend as a date to the ball. That was all he knew. And really, that was all that he needed to know. He did well to make sure that he caused enough of a scene at the Ball before taking it upon himself to become the very first member of the "I Hate Viktor Krum Club." His initiation? Tearing off the arms of his Krum figurine. He and Hermione stopped speaking for a little while, but as always, they made up as well. Later on, Ron became a part of the second task as the one thing that Harry would miss the most, and found himself sleeping in the lake. There really wasn't much that he could remember about the entire task, but he knew that he was thrilled that Harry was so keen on him as a friend. During his fifth year, Ron ended up being holed into Grimmauld Place with the Order of the Pheonix. He spent a majority of his holiday cleaning up the old house and attempting to eavesdrop on the Order's meetings, but aside from that Ron spent a lot of time worrying about Harry and how he was recovering from what had happened to him during the last task of the Triwizard Tournament. With the press saying all that rubbish about he and Dumbledore being absolutely insane and with the Order and everything all being kept secret from Harry, Ron knew that it would only have been a matter of time before his best mate exploded on everyone. Normally, Ron wouldn't take something like that. He'd be all in it, screaming back and everything. But he figured that Harry just needed to let everything out, so he just sat back and took whatever it was that Harry had to dish out at both he and Hermione and did his best to reason with him (which was, as he quickly learned, a very difficult thing to do). Later on in the year, Ron became an active member of the DA after everyone decided that Professor Umbridge was just not going to do them any good when it came to preparing them for their upcoming OWL's. He also joined the Gryffindor Quidditch team as Keeper and, as time went on, eventually helped their house win the cup. Oh, and he also got his own theme song, which to his pleasure, was re-written. Ron spent a lot of time worrying over Harry (as usual) about the nightmares that he had been having. Since he slept in the same dormitory, Ron constantly found himself waking up to the sounds of Harry mumbling in his sleep, and it seemed as though he was always the one who had to wake him up. Eventually, this led to Harry having a very strange dream about his father, and as it turned out, that dream was very true. Arthur Weasley nearly died, and in the process, Ron found that he had never been so terrified in his entire life. Later on in the year, after Harry had another similar nightmare, he and quite a few other members of the DA took off to the Department of Mysteries to face off a large group of Death Eaters and search for Sirius, who was believed to be in grave danger. Throughout everything that happened that day, Ron fought quite a bit and ended up falling victim to a hex that made him think that nearly everything around him was quite hilarious. Eventually, this hex drove him to summon a brain that was being held in a glass case toward him. A brain that, as soon as he made contact with it, seemed far more than eager to attack him. The rest of that evening fell into a blur as Ron attempted to free himself from the brains burning tentacles, and even though he will never openly admit it, Ron quickly discovered that the brain did more to him than just burn his skin. Thoughts of violent, sad, and unbearable things were forced through his mind - things that were just far too painful and tragic for him to bear. And just when it seemed as though his entire body was just going to give up and die on him, Ron found himself waking up in the hospital wing, feeling entirely confused about what had happened and why he had so many burn marks and bandages spread about his arms and chest. Later, he discovered that Sirius had died. [in progress]
THE DETAILS.
LOVE INTEREST: Oh, you know. That girl. The one with the hair. What? Hermione? Who said that? MOST VIVID MEMORY: The first time he was allowed to play Quidditch with his brothers. CLOSEST FRIENDS: Harry Potter and Hermione Granger are definitely his best mates. Ron is also fairly close with Neville Longbottom, Seamus Finnigan, and Dean Thomas. WORST ENEMY(IES): Draco Malfoy, Death Eaters, and ~~Vicky~~ Viktor Krum. GREATEST FEAR (Who/What is your character’s Boggart?): The last Ron checked, it was a gigantic spider. If he were to stumble across one as of late though, it would probably be someone that he cared about lying dead at his feet, then suddenly jumping upward and blaming him for their death. PATRONUS: A Jack Russell Terrier. GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT: The Quidditch match that resulted in the rewrite of 'Weasley is Our King'. BIGGEST FAILURE/SELF-DISAPPOINTMENT: That whole thing with Lavender Brown back in his sixth year. FLAWS: His temper, jealousy, his incapability to mask his emotions, and the extremes that he'd be willing to go to in order to protect his friends and family. Ron also has this problem with keeping his mouth shut. SPECIAL/UNIQUE TALENTS: Analysis and strategy, his ability to make people smile when they're down, and his unwavering loyalty to his friends and family.
